4th GRADE
ELA
ELA tutoring is held Tuesdays after school until 3 pm.
We are using the Core Knowledge Language Arts program in 4th grade. The format will be familiar to returning IHC students, since this is what is used in IHC grades K - 3 currently. Our ELA program consists of a balanced literacy model with emphasis on reading, writing, and word work. A curriculum map for fourth grade Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) is shown below. Small group guided reading is done in addition to the CKLA curriculum.

Math tutoring is held Mondays after school until 3 pm.
We are using Pearson envision Math. Fourth graders will be able to access online practice material at
SOCIAL STUDIES
Our Social Studies curriculum is based on the framework developed by the New York State Education Department. The fourth grade Social Studies curriculum establishes a chronological framework to help students organize information about their communities within the context of New York State history. Some of the new Social Studies inquiries / toolkits will be used to enrich our curriculum.
